Obituary

David F. Joubert of Whitman, died on April 4th at his home for over 50 years, surrounded by friends and family.

David was born in Brockton on May 7, 1938 to the late George Joubert and Hellen (Payton) Joubert. David was preceded by his wife of 63 years, Joan (Estes) Joubert.

David is survived by his two sons, David F. Joubert and his wife Rosane (Namur) of Edgartown, MA and Eric Joubert, of Whitman MA. He is also survived by his brothers Edward Joubert and his wife Susan, George Joubert of Switzerland, and Ann (Joubert) Young of Plymouth. His grandchildren George P. Joubert of Edgartown, MA, Michelle Namur of Curitiba, BR, Monique (Joubert) Espinosa and her husband Michael of Caldwell, ID and Gabriel Joubert of Edgartown, MA. He leaves behind multi-generation of Nieces and Nephews and Cousins.

Dave began his career overseas in the United States Army as a lineman in the first of the 17th Buffalo soldier’s headquarters unit during the Korean War. When he returned home, he began working at the family business, Joubert’s serving in many roles selling retail shoes and clothing. In the 80’s he began selling real estate at Berry Real Estate in Whitman. Dave then started a Property Management Company caring for local multifamily and commercial properties.

In his spare time, Dave was a staunch support of the wilderness, having had a Tree Farm, raising Chickens, rabbits, as well as having over 20 Bee hives located throughout the town. He and Joni had an avid dance relationship, which started as a hobby, then become “Joni J Dance Production’ which spawned “Dave the DJ”, the list goes on ! Dave also enjoyed being an outdoorsman spend seasonal time on hunting, Fishing, clamming, and enjoyed nature walks thru “Camp Alice Carlton”.

Family and friends are invited to attend David's visiting hours on Monday, April 8th from 4:00-7:00 PM in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street (Rte. 58 @ the rotary) Whitman. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, April 9th at 10:00 AM in the funeral chapel, with a burial to follow at High Street cemetery, Pine Street, Whitman, MA.
