Obituary

WESTBROOK- On October 13th, 1950, a war hero’s story began..Steven Michael Parker was born in Waterville to parents Theresa and Keith Parker. He was one of 5 children. He grew up and went to school in Winslow Maine before enlisting in the army in December 1968. He fought for our freedom in the Vietnam war earning a National Defense service medal, Vietnam service medal and a Vietnam campaign medal before being honorably discharged in 1971. After the service Steve moved to Lewiston where he was raising his 2 children Chad and Tanya. In 1984 he met Lynda, the love of his life, they married only weeks after meeting and became a family of 6 lovingly welcoming Lynda’s children Dan and Sarah. Steve, Lynda and family relocated to Fairfield ctr where he enjoyed the quiet country setting, fishing, going to the beach and being with family. He worked for 22 years at Waterville window before retiring and relocating to Westbrook Maine with his wife Lynda, boxer Tyson and chihuahua Lola. Not quite ready to stop working he worked for 3 years at Mardens before being a full-time retiree. Steve spent his days gardening and taking his beloved Lola for walks and car rides. Steve always enjoyed his music, you would often find him jamming to Tom petty, Bruce Springsteen or Jon Cougar. He loved a good BBQ and was known to grill in the biggest blizzards in Maine. Steve, our loving husband, father, papa, and friend passed peacefully on 3/22/2024. He is predeceased by his parents brother pat and his beloved boxer Tyson. He is survived by his wife of 40 years Lynda, children Chad Parker partner Brandy Girardin , Tanya & husband Roger Provost, Dan Grenier and partner Kate Dahlke, Sarah and husband Jason Donnell Grandchildren :Teresa, Emily, Lea, Thomas, Seth, Hailee, Katie and mason. Great grandchildren: Bennett and Axton. Sisters: Gail, Susie, Brenda and families Celebration of life will be held on April 13th - 1pm @ American Legion Post 76 55-73 Manson Libby Rd Scarborough
