Sara Ann Jowers Beard, 62, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Monday, April 1, 2024, at Emory Saint Joseph’s in Atlanta, Georgia.
Memorial services will be held 2 PM, Thursday, April 4, 2024, at The Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Fitzgerald, with the Rev. Chuck Taylor officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services at the funeral home.
Ms. Beard was born November 12, 1961, in Ben Hill County, Georgia, to Mildred Harrison Jowers Aycock and the late Elijah Ralph Jowers. She will be missed by her brothers, sisters and extended family members. Ms. Beard was a loving mother, daughter, and sister. She was of the Baptist faith.
She is survived by her son, Drake Harrell & Layne of Fitzgerald; grandsons: Landry Harrell and Layton Harrell; a sister, Wendy Gray & Rondy; two brothers: Ralph Jowers & Mary and Billy Jowers & Patty, all of Fitzgerald; step-brothers: Lankford Eugene Aycock, Jr. & Elaine of Fitzgerald and Jim Aycock & Beth of Irwinville; and two step-sisters: Teresa Peacock & Wallace of Fitzgerald and Tammy Roberts & D.J. Lee of Irwinville. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a son, Jessie James Harrell, the father of her children, Rob Sumner and her step-father, Lankford Aycock.
Paulk Funeral Home, Fitzgerald, is in charge of arrangements.
