Obituary

Norma L. (Cahill) Hoffman, 90, formerly of Worcester died Wednesday, March 27th in her daughter’s home. Her husband of 61 years, Dick Hoffman died in 2015. She leaves a daughter, Joanne N. Gilley of Agawam, her son, Richard A. Hoffman, Jr., and wife Janet of Marshfield; 4 grandchildren, Brian Gilley and wife, Michelle of Springfield, Timothy Hoffman and his wife, Darcy of Los Angeles, CA, Stephen Hoffman and wife, Danielle of Marshfield, Traci (Gilley) Martin and husband, Conor of Feeding Hills; 5 great-grandchildren, Rachael, Jacob, and Hailey Hoffman, Ivy Martin, and Mia Gilley; her sister, Laura Dutkiewicz of North Brookfield; and several nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by her daughter, Nancy A Hoffman in 1967; and her two sisters, Phyllis Gagne and Marie Gordon.

She was born in Worcester, the daughter of Philip and Corinne (Shepard) Cahill. Norma graduated from the former High School of Commerce. She worked for many years in the advertising department at Woodbury & Company, retiring in 1995. Norma was a former member of St. Charles Borromeo Church. She had a passion for game shows, finding joy in the quick wit and unpredictable nature of them. Norma was a member of the Wilbraham Senior Center where she enjoyed going to lunches, events and playing bingo with her friends. Her visits to the casino were a testament to her zest for life and her love for the unexpected. Most of all, she loved watching her grandchildren and great grandchildren grow up. It meant everything to her. Norma's spirit, her love for life's simple pleasures, and her warm and welcoming presence will be deeply missed by all who had the honor of knowing her.

Her calling hours will be on Friday, April 5th from 10:00am until 11:00am in O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue with a funeral service to follow, beginning at 11:00am in the funeral home. Burial will follow in St. John’s Cemetery, 260 Cambridge Street. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude PL., Memphis, TN 38105-1905.
