Obituary



Gaetano Federico, 83, passed away on Tuesday, March 26th, at the Beth Israel Hospital of Plymouth. Born and raised in Sulmona, Italy, he was the son of the late Joseph and Enrichetta Federico. Gaetano immigrated to the U.S. in his late teens and settled in Boston's Norh End, where he was employed as a welder. He has lived in Plymouth for the past 17 years. Gaetano enjoyed cooking and making his own wine. He loved playing Bocce with friends and tending his garden, including canning his own tomatoes. Gaetano had a wonderful singing voice, and enjoyed spending time at the beach.

Gaetano was the beloved husband of Marie (Sindoni) Federico and the late Angela (DiGiulio) Federico. He was the devoted father of Joseph Federico, Gaetano Federico Jr., Anthony Federico and his wife Amy, and the late John Federico. Gaetano was the cherished step-father of Donald Onnis and his wife Christine, and Amanda Onnis, and the loving grandfather of William, Gianna, Nicholas, Noah and Alex Garcia. He was the dear brother of Domenico, Antonio, Maria, Anna, Rita, Giuseppina, and the late Giovanna, Pasquale, Bambina and Giovanna. Gaetano is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews, and his grand-dog Lucky.

Visiting hours will be held on Monday, April 1st in the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford from 4 through 8 PM, and again on Tuesday, April 2nd at 9 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated in St. Clement Church, 71 Warner St., Medford, at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Services will conclude with burial at St. Michael Mausoleum, Boston.
