Daniel S. Christos, 41, of New Bedford, passed away on Thursday, March 21, 2024 at home. He was the son of Joyce L. (Hurlbert) Christos and her partner Michael Salvo of Westport and Spear Christos and his wife Maria of Buzzards Bay.
Daniel was born in Boston and raised in Stoughton. He graduated from Stoughton High School and later moved to New Bedford. Danny practiced the martial art Krav Maga, and a few years ago he discovered Yoga, one of his greatest passions. He studied, trained and became a Certified Yoga Instructor. In New Bedford, Daniel developed a love of the ocean along with his life-long affection for animals. He worked alongside his brother as a fabricator for Division 15 HVAC in Pembroke and taught Yoga in the evening and on weekends.
Survivors along with his parents include his two brothers: Nicholas Christos of Hermosa Beach, CA and Keith Christos of Stoughton; aunts and uncles; Barbara Hurlbert of Putnam, CT; Les and Phyllis Christos of Brighton; cousins: Rachel Viveiros and her son Dorian of Chepachet, RI and Greg Christos of San Diego, CA; step-siblings: John Collins of Buzzards Bay; Sam and Jen Salvo of Seekonk and Andrea Salvo and her son Julian of Barrington, RI.
Memorial visitation to which relatives and friends are invited will be Tuesday, April 2, 2024 from 4:00 - 7:00 pm at the Potter Funeral Home.
Interment will be a private ceremony with family the following day.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Humane Society-South Coast.
