Carol V. (Burns) Place, 79, of Lakeville, peacefully went home to heaven from home on Friday, March 15, 2024 with her family by her side. She was the virtuous wife of Stephen L. Place
Mrs. Place was born in Woonsocket, RI daughter of the late Perry and Grace (Hood) Burns and had resided in Lakeville for the last 11 years. Prior to retirement, she worked as a secretary for AT&T. She was an active member of the Lakeville Christian Fellowship Church where she also enjoyed women's Bible Study. She liked watching Jeopardy, Wheel of Fortune, and Hallmark movies. She was an avid reader and a lover of life. She loved sharing the love of Jesus as well and diligent praying over her family and friends. She gave to charitable causes as well as sponsoring two children over seas.
Survivors along with her loving husband include their blended family of four sons: Edward Ostrowsky of Lakeville, Mark Place and his wife Diane of Taunton, Michael Place and his wife Lucy of RI, and Chance Place of Taunton;
6 Daughters: Donna Bottella of ME, Lori Archer and her husband Robert of FL, Sheri Place Stewart and her husband Shawn of Lakeville, Becky Wren of Taunton, Wendy Gavin and her husband Jay of Lakeville, and Beth Soares of Lakeville; Her sister: Jane of MA; along with countless grandchildren and great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. As well as cousins.
She was the loving step-mother of the late Eric and Randy Place as she considered them her own and sister of the late Joyce and Robert Burns.
Funeral services to which relatives and friends are invited will be Friday, March 22, 2024 at the Kirby Funeral at 11:00 am.
Calling hours Thursday March 21, 2024 from 6-8 pm.
Interment in Acushnet Cemetery ,Acushnet .
