Helen L. (Winsor) Florentino, age 99, of Stoneham, formerly a longtime resident of Winchester, passed away on March 15, 2024, lovingly surrounded by her family. She was the beloved wife of the late Frank H. Florentino and the late John J. Fitzgerald.
The daughter of the late Ruth and Paul Kurtick, Helen was raised and educated in Dorchester, MA. In her spare time, she was an avid reader and loved to play cards with her friends.
She was the loving mother of Joseph Fitzgerald and his wife Jeannette of Danvers, Joanne Russo of Saugus, Maureen Fitzgerald of Waltham, John Fitzgerald and his wife Annmarie of Gloucester, Michael Fitzgerald and his wife Kathy of FL, Nancy D’Auria and her husband Michael of Lexington.
Helen was the dear grandmother of Dara, Stephen, Tammy, Kim, Angela, Jonathan, Michael, Matthew and Kristin, and the great-grandmother of John, Talia, James, Gianna, Angelina, Ava, Carissa, Alec, Emily, Elle, Drew and Lily. She was the sister of the late William, Paul and Carl Rich, Elling Reich and Louise Inge and is further survived by many nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind a sister-in-law Anna Mae Giacometti and her husband Albert and was recently predeceased by her dear friend of 92 years Jean Lordan.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, March 19, 2024 in St. Mary’s Church, 155 Washington St. Winchester, at 10:30AM. A Visiting Hour will be held prior to Mass in the Costello Funeral Home, 177 Washington St., Winchester, on Tuesday, March 19 from 9-10AM. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Burial will follow in Westview Cemetery, Lexington.
