Obituary

Douglas D. Waldo, age 98, passed away on March 12, 2024 at Baystate Medical Center, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on November 1, 1925 in Syracuse, NY, a son of the late Myron and Nina (Dixon) Waldo. Douglas was a US Navy Veteran. He was member of the First United Methodist Church in Westfield. He used to enjoy bowling and was very involved with Meals on Wheels. He is predeceased by his wife Ilean (Meador) Waldo who passed away in 2006 and also by his brother Walter Waldo. He is survived by his three daughters, Virginia K. St Onge and her husband Lee J. St Onge of Westfield, Terry A Lonczak and her husband Ken Lonczak of Ludlow and Donna J. Zeiner and her husband Ron Zeiner of Gardner; 7 grandchildren, Doug, Sharon, Amy, Derek, Brett, Greg and Christine; 15 great grandchildren; his companion Doris Clark of Southwick and his close neighbors and good friends Lynn and Mark Kurowski and Mark Kani. Committal Prayers and Military Honors will be held on Monday, March 25, 2024 at 3:00 PM in the Chapel of the MA Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Agawam.
