Obituary

Louise E. Chapman, 69, passed away on Monday, March 4th at her home in Greenville, RI. She was the life partner of Carol Armour for 36 years.

Born in Norwich, CT, a daughter of the late Alton and Lorraine (Morey) Chapman. Louise had lived in Greenville for 34 years previously living in Canterbury, CT. She had attended St. Mary’s School in Jewett City and Notre Dame High School in Norwich, class of 1972.

Louise had been employed with Shetucket Plumbing in Norwich, Ct for many years. She later worked with the Providence Housing Authority as a purchasing agent, retiring in 2015.

She loved all sports. The Boston Red Sox, New York Giants and the UCONN Huskies being her favorite. She loved to watch March Madness, especially during her birthday week, it was a special event. After her mother’s death, she became the keeper of the family traditions. She loved hosting family and friends and would make sure everyone had their favorite dish to eat and drink. Thanksgiving was her favorite holiday to host. She was the same with her legion of friends, whom she loved dearly.

We will miss her sparkling blue eyes, her infectious laughter and her ability to listen and comfort you.

Louise is also survived by her sister, Katherine (Peter) Chapman of Norwich, CT, her brother, James Chapman of Jewett, City, CT and her sister Jean (Sal) Culmo of Naugatuck, CT. She is also survived by her aunt, Annette Perrone of Groton, CT; cousin Nancy (Martin) Espejo; niece Shannon Chapman, and nephews Adam and Ryan Boulanger. Louise leaves her cats, Jack and Otis. She was predeceased by her brother Kenneth Chapman.

Her funeral was private.
