Obituary

Pocasset, MA ___ Bartholomew G. “Bart” March, 89, of Pocasset, MA and Estero, FL, formerly of Worcester, MA, passed away on Tuesday, February 27, 2024 with the comfort of his family at Hope Hospice Center, Bonita Springs, FL. He is survived by his devoted wife of sixty-three years, Dorothy (Skinisky) March; his daughter Linda (March) Terry, her husband Rob, and his beloved grandchildren Jennifer, a student at the University of Rhode Island and Ryan, a student at Grafton High School; his son John and daughter-in-law Betsy of Mashpee, MA; and is survived by his sister Eleanor (March) Carmody of Worcester. He is predeceased by his parents Bartholomew G. March Sr. and Marion (Jurgelonis) March, and his siblings Marion (March) Racicot, Richard March, and Robert March.

A dedicated mathematics teacher in the City of Worcester school system, Mr. March graduated from St. Peter’s High School, and he received his teaching degree from Worcester State University after serving for several years in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict. Devoted to his wife, extended family, friends and community, he was a lifelong parishioner and dedicated volunteer at Our Lady of Vilna Catholic Church, serving in the Men’s Club and various other organizations including acting as an officer in the Knights of Lithuania Council 116. An avid boater and fisherman, Bart crafted his own lures and fishing poles and held a commercial fishing license for many summers on Cape Cod. If he wasn’t out fishing, he loved working in his yard and garden. Whether it be on Cape Cod, in their Florida community, or their former home in Worcester, his life revolved around his family, church and his community.

Calling hours will be from 9:00 am to 10:00 am on Friday, March 8, 2024, in Our Lady of Vilna Church, 151 Sterling St, Worcester, MA. A Funeral Mass will follow immediately afterwards at 10:00 am.
