Obituary

DUDLEY – Michelle M. (Furey) Bilis, 68, died Sunday in Saint Vincent Medical Center, Bridgeport, CT after a brief illness.

She leaves her husband of over 45 years, Dimitrios “Jimmy” Bilis; 2 daughters, Crystal L. Pacheco and her husband Mark of East Providence, RI, and Jacqueline L. Miner and her husband Joshua of Charlton; a granddaughter, Alexa Jade Miner; 2 brothers, Gregory Furey and his wife Peggy of Dudley, and Joseph Furey of Webster; 2 sisters, Karen Furey of Dracut and Lynn Helferich of Rockport; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother David Furey and her sister Cheryl Furey.

She was born on February 27, 1956 in Palmer and raised there, the daughter of Joseph and Lois (Bruce) Furey. She lived in Webster in her teenage years and moved to Dudley in the 1990’s. She graduated from Bartlett High School in 1974.

Mrs. Bilis first owned and operated Crystal’s Cleaning Service. She then worked as a server at the former Honey Dew Donut Shop. She retired as a custodian at Dudley Elementary School after 10 years of service in 2021.

Michelle loved playing cards, particularly pitch and cribbage. She enjoyed shopping trips and going to the beach. Her life centered around her husband, daughters and especially her granddaughter.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 to noon on Saturday, March 9, in Scanlon Funeral Service, 38 East Main Street, Webster, with a service beginning at noon.
