Ann M. Amato, a longtime Woburn resident passed away, unexpectedly, Sunday, March 3, 2024. She was 82. Ann was the beloved wife for 62 years of Peter V. Amato. Born in Boston she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Lena (Quattrochi) Arigo.
Ann was raised and educated in Malden and was a graduate of Malden High School. Following her marriage to Peter, they settled in Somerville for a number of years before moving to Woburn in 1972 where they have resided ever since. Ann loved shopping, always looking for the next good deal. However, her greatest joy was her family. She enjoyed being home and providing for her family. She cherished spending time with her adored grandchildren and nothing made her happier than to be with those she loved. Ann will fondly be remembered for her love of shopping, but mostly for her love and devotion to her husband and family.
In addition to her beloved husband Peter, Ann is survived by her children, Peter Amato, Sr. and his wife Teresa of Wilmington, Stephen Amato and his wife Darlene M. of Woburn. She was the loving grandmother of Melissa Amato of Wilmington, Peter Amato, Jr. of Tyngsboro, Nicholas Amato of San Jose, CA, and Ryan Amato of Woburn. Sister of Marie Hines and her husband Richard of Reading, the late Carmella Cox, Jacqueline Bartlett, and Saro Arigo. Sister-in-law of Vincent Amato and his wife Rose Ann of Billerica. She is further survived by many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be conducted in the McLaughlin - Dello Russo Family Funeral Home, 60 Pleasant St., WOBURN, Friday, March 8th, at 10 a.m. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, from 4 to 7 p.m. It has been requested that in lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Ann's memory to the charity of one's choice.
