George was a 1955 graduate of Holy Cross where he met many of his life-long friends. He served as a Naval Supply Officer spending a couple of years aboard ships in the Pacific area. He later earned a degree from Northeastern in electrical engineering. His career was as a sales representative in the electrical industry, during which he was owner of two separate agencies.

After some time serving the National Head Injury Foundation, he founded the Massachusetts Chapter (now the Brain Injury Association of Massachusetts) in 1982 and served as the first President for several years. He enjoyed family to the fullest and tried to “stop and smell the flowers” whenever possible.
