Obituary

George Lynde MacDonald of Randolph - formerly of South Boston - died peacefully at home on February 14th 2024, surrounded by his loving friends & family.

George was born August 24, 1942 - son of the late Catherine (Murphy) MacDonald and Joseph MacDonald. He was raised in Boston his entire life.

He was a proud member of the United States Marine Corps, serving overseas in Okinawa, Japan. After returning home, George went on to have a long career as a truck driver for Victor Coffee.

He was the beloved husband of Catherine (Yebba) MacDonald, with whom he shared 52 beautiful years of marriage together.

He was a devoted father to son Brian MacDonald and his wife Julie of Braintree; daughter Kelly Partosan and her husband Lyle of Randolph; and son Joseph MacDonald and his wife Mellissa of Raynham.

He was a loving grandfather or “Grumpy” to 6 grandkids: Jenna, Jimmy, Aidan, Jack, Liam, & Patrick - all of whom he adored.

A caring brother to his late siblings: Joseph MacDonald, Paul MacDonald, & Barbara Jordan. Cherished by many loving nieces and nephews, as well as his in-laws.

George was also involved in South Boston Youth Sports, where he devoted years of his life to coaching youth hockey and baseball teams.

A funeral mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, February 23, 2024 at St. Monica’s Catholic Church - 331 Old Colony Ave, South Boston, MA 02127.
