Obituary

BELMONT ---- Daniel Robert Becker, 36, passed away unexpectedly from a pre-existing cardiac condition on Monday, February 12, 2024, at Concord Hospital – Laconia.

Dan was born July 28, 1987, in Berlin, NH to Joseph Becker and Colleen O’Connor.

Dan is survived by his wife Amy Chesley, his mother Colleen O’Connor of Rochester, NH, his brother Michael O’Connor, and his wife Erica, of Wakefield, NH, his brother Kory Becker, AZ, his sister Rachel Becker Badjie, of Ipswich, MA, as well as his parents-in-law Curt and Joanne Chesley, and sisters-in-law Julia Chesley and Megan Gray and her husband Brennan of Moultonborough, NH. Dan is also survived by many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his brother Jeremy Becker, his grandparents Robert and Linda Spolar, Robert O’Connor, Robert Becker and Patricia Arneson.

Amy and Dan were more than just classmates, best friends, partners in crime and co-workers at the family-run catering business where they worked --- they were without question soulmates. Rarely did you see one without the other. They were truly inseparable – best friends for life and beyond. They both hated to drive so much that when they did grace you with their presence, you knew you mattered! Dan enjoyed high school so much that he opted to earn his GED when Moultonborough Academy finally broke the news to him that he was too old to come back for “another” sophomore year. Not too many people can say they aged out of high school as a sophomore, and nobody was more proud of that accomplishment than Dan!

Dan was a head chef for nearly 15 years at Curt’s Caterers in Gilford, NH. He loved to cook and bake and was always sharing his latest creations. Everyone that knew Dan enjoyed his quick wit, hilarious sense of humor and knack for trivia. His jocular laugh will never be replicated – oftentimes he could be heard laughing at his own jokes or outlandish comments simply to make others laugh with him. If you were ever on the receiving end of one of Dan’s unique birthday or Christmas gifts, along with the reluctance to open it, you understand his incredible sense of humor. The gifts were as unique as Dan himself. Memories of Dan will forever be in our hearts and the mere thought of him will undoubtedly bring a smile, and an involuntary chuckle that will conjure up his crazy antics. He truly was, and will always be, the life of the party. His charisma and big heartedness will provide life-long laughs; just the way he would want it!
