Obituary

Mrs. Marguerite G. (Testa) Minear, a resident of Medford for 68 years, passed away at her home Monday, February 12, 2024, at the age of 95. She was predeceased by her husband of 71 years, William (Bill) Minear, her parents Joseph and Madeline (Cantaloupo) Testa and her sisters Philomena and Maria Testa.

A graduate of Medford High School, Marguerite learned shorthand and worked as a medical secretary for the Lahey Clinic among other medical institutions. In her youth, Marguerite was an avid tennis player who could always be found on the tennis courts across the street where she lived on Central Avenue. She was an accomplished sketch artist, loved the big bands especially Glenn Miller and her favorite song, Moonlight Serenade and could always be seen dancing to the beat of almost any song. She absolutely loved watching the Hallmark Channel and her favorite DVD movies. Above all, she was a devoted wife, mother, friend and neighbor. She truly lived her Catholic faith.

Marguerite is survived by her children, David Minear and his husband Gary Scott (deceased) William (Billy) Minear and his wife Anne Marie, Karen Minear Martin and her husband Craig, Paul Minear and his wife Sue, Mark Minear and his wife Ellen, Jeff Minear and his wife Dorothy.

Marguerite was a wonderful grandmother (Grammy) to Ross Martin and his partner Diana of San Marcos, CA., Julie Martin of Weeki Wachee, FL, Justin Martin and his wife Jamie of Needham, MA., Jonathan Minear and his partner Lisa Wilson of Millis, MA, Christopher Minear and his wife Kristina of Lowell, MA., Nicholas Minear and his partner Carly Mandell of Dracut, MA., Caitlin Minear of Medford, MA. Lauren Matthews of South Boston, MA, Jake Minear and his fiancé Lexi of Ashby, MA., Grace Minear, Matthew Minear, Sarah Minear of Ayer, MA. and great-grandchildren, Emma Martin, Lindsay Wilson, Logan Minear and Caleb Minear.

A communicant of St. Raphael’s Catholic Church, West Medford, Marguerite and Bill were active members of the faith community. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, February 16th at 10:00 o’clock in the morning at St. Raphael’s Catholic Church, 512 High Street, West Medford, MA 02155. Interment will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
