Obituary

LONGMEADOW – Nektarios A. "Nick" Papoutsakis, 60, of Longmeadow, was Called Home on Thursday, January 25, 2024. He passed into Eternal Life unexpectedly while away on vacation in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. He was born in Chania, Crete, Greece on October 15, 1963, the beloved son of Chrysanthi (Koundourakis) Papoutsakis of Palmer and the late Andreas G. Papoutsakis who was Called Home on April 25, 2022. He immigrated to Springfield in 1967 and moved to Longmeadow in 1996 where he lived the remainder of his life. Nick was the owner, operator, and general contractor for JNC Construction in Longmeadow and retired from the Carpenters Local 7. He was a communicant of Saint George Greek Orthodox Cathedral in Springfield. In addition to his mother, he leaves his two loving and devoted children, Jasmine Papoutsakis and her husband, Vugar Abdullayev, and Nikolas Papoutsakis, and their mother, Celinda Woo, all of Longmeadow; his two dear sisters, Georgia A. Papoutsakis and her husband, Donald L. Rhea, of Hampden, and Maria A. Papoutsakis of Palmer; his two cherished nieces, Sara Battersby of Long Beach, CA and Chloe Lewis of Palmer; his longtime companion, Joann Grkovic of Springfield; and his many dear cousins, extended family members and friends.
