GILFORD ---- Eleanor May Hazen, 81, of Hoyt Road, passed away at her home on Monday, February 5, 2024.
She was born on May 24, 1942, in New London, the daughter of Howard Hazen, Sr. and Shirley (Towle) Hazen.
She worked as a sales representative for the State of New Hampshire’s Lottery Commission before retiring in 2003. She was an experienced quilter and seamstress. She taught a quilting class for several years. She loved to dance and play cards, especially cribbage. Her grandchildren kept her going. They spent a lot of time with her and so did many of their friends who all called her Meme.
Eleanor is survived by her daughter Lorretta Sikoski and her husband Craig, brothers Howard Hazen, Jr. and Kenneth Hazen, two grandsons Shawn Bourdon and his wife Alexandra and Adam Sikoski, a granddaughter Lauren Sikoski, and three great-grandchildren Eva, Sam and Lucy Bourdon. In addition to her parents, Eleanor is predeceased by two sisters Marilyn Hurd and Gloria Thisell.
Calling Hours will be held on Thursday, February 15, 2024, from 4:00pm-6:00pm, in the Carriage House at Wilkinson-Beane-Simoneau-Paquette Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, NH 03246.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, February 17, 2024, at 10:00am, at St. Andre Bessette Parish – Sacred Heart Church, 291 Union Avenue, Laconia, NH.
