Mr. Holmberg was married for 57 years to the late Marie Blanche (Provost) Holmberg who died in 2015. He is survived by three daughters, Jeanne Simeone and her husband, Joseph of Narragansett, RI, Susan Auger of Webster and Christine Arsenault and her husband, Yvon of Leominster; two sons, Robert Holmberg of Auburn and Mark Holmberg and his wife, Maxine of Plainfield, CT; a daughter in law, Pamela Holmberg of Fernandina Beach, FL; 11 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.

Mr. Holmberg was born in Worcester, son of the late John L. and Pauline L. (Hope) Holmberg. He is predeceased by a son, John Holmberg; a daughter, Pamela Holmberg and a sister, Doris Claire Holmberg.

John worked for over 20 years as a motor coach driver for both Foxy Tours and Fox Tours. He previously worked for the Teamsters as a driver for Kenyon Oil Company.

Mr. Holmberg always looked forward to reading his many magazines, especially ones that were about yachting, railroads, flying and motorcycles. He would often look at model train plans and then improve them with his own personal touches. John was a fan of big band music and was always fascinated to learn more information about the large steam engines that were used to transport across the country.

John often took trips with his wife to the Rhode Island shores to watch the boats enter and exit the marina but most of all Mr. Holmberg enjoyed being with his family. He cherished the times that he was able to spend with his wife, children and grandchildren.
