Obituary

WEBSTER – Gerald A. “Jerry” Czechowski, 80, died Sunday, February 4, 2024 in Charlotte Hungerford Hospital, Torrington, CT after a brief illness.

He leaves his wife of 52 years, Marie P. (Valade) Czechowski; 3 children, Jessica M. Arpin and her husband Ken, and Daniel A. Czechowski, all of Webster, and Jennifer A. Czechowski of North Providence, RI; a grandson, Kenny Arpin; nephews, nieces and cousins.

He was born on June 12, 1943 in Webster, the only son of Isadore E. “Izzy” Czechowski and Florence T. (Szamocki) Czechowski and lived here all his life. He graduated from Bartlett High School in 1961 and later earned a bachelor’s degree in engineering from Northeastern University.

He was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War, serving as a staff sergeant in Okinawa.

Mr. Czechowski worked at Incom, Inc. in Charlton as a production supervisor, retiring in 2009.

He was a member of Saint Anthony of Padua Church in Dudley and also of Saint Joseph Basilica. He liked working on his antique car. He devoted his life to his wife and his family.

His funeral will be held Thursday, February 8, from the Sitkowski, Malboeuf & Hickey Funeral Home, 340 School Street, with a Mass at 11:00 AM in Saint Anthony of Padua Church, 24 Dudley Hill Road, Dudley. Burial will be in Saint Joseph Garden of Peace, Webster, with the Webster-Dudley Veterans Council providing military honors. Visitation will be held from 9:00 to 10:30 AM Thursday in the funeral home, prior to the Mass.
