Obituary

Albert J. Benedetti, passed away with his family around him on January 30, 2024, in his home in Foxboro. Born on March 14, 1925, in Hyde Park, he was the beloved son of the late Chiara and Giovanni Benedetti.

Albert graduated from Roslindale High School and proudly served as a tank driver in the United States Army during the Battle of the Bulge in World War II.

In December of 1951, Albert married his beloved late wife, Mary (Buonopane), and together they raised four children: Karen Marie Orlandi of Foxboro, Linda Ann Benedetti of Falmouth, Mary Ellen Civetti of Dedham, and the late Albert John Benedetti of Norwood. Albert was a devoted husband and father, and his family was the cornerstone of his life.

Albert successfully ran his own construction company in Boston for several years before he
retired to Cape Cod and Boca Raton. He loved golfing, gardening, cooking, and spending time in his workshop making handcrafted dollhouses and bird houses with his grandchildren. He also loved making handcrafted keepsakes and toys that he generously donated to the Honor Flight, caregivers, friends and family. He generously donated much of his free time to organizations such as Italian Society of Sacred Heart, Sons of Italy, and Roslindale Lodge. He was known for his quick wit, generosity, fun loving nature, his big heart, and he was a pillar in his community. Albert cherished spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Albert was predeceased by his parents, his loving wife Mary, his sister Nancy Malone of Fort Meyers, his sister Mary Benedetti of Fort Meyers, his sister Anne LaCount of Easton, his sister Viola Terrasi of Maynard, his sister Angelina Saia of Roslindale, and his brother Rocco of West Roxbury.

He leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories with his 3 brothers: John Benedetti of
Norwood, Tony Benedetti of Fort Meyers, and Lou Benedetti of Boca Raton. As well as his daughter Karen Orlandi and husband Cary Orlandi, his daughter Linda Benedetti, his daughter Mary Ellen Civetti and her husband Mike Civetti, and his daughter-in-law Jeannette Benedetti, as well as his grandchildren: Karen Orlandi, CJ Orlandi, Thomas Orlandi, the late Michael Warren, Laura Warren, Shara Benedetti, Namwhan Orlandi, and Alyssa Orlandi; and his great grandchildren Angel Warren, Aaron Orlandi, and Logan Orlandi.

A service to honor Albert's life will be held on Tuesday February 6, 2024 from 5-7 PM in the
Joseph Russo Funeral Home, located at 814 American Legion Highway, Roslindale, Massachusetts.

Military honors will follow for family only on Wednesday February 7, 2024 at Massachusetts National Cemetery ( Otis Air National Guard Base) in Bourne where Albert will be laid to
rest.

In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

Albert will be remembered as a loving father, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend. His
stories, wisdom, and the warmth of his company will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
