Obituary

Timothy James Saucier, 63, of Tamarac Drive, Smithfield, passed unexpectedly on Tuesday, January 23rd.

Timothy was born in Providence, Rhode Island, a son of the late Helen J (Hart) Saucier and Joseph M. Saucier. He had graduated in 1978 from Johnston Senior High School where he earned the nicknames “Sauce” and “The Sauce Man.” He later continued his education with the Community College of Rhode Island.

From a young age, Tim always had an interest in collecting things. His niche was autograph and political memorabilia, but after his oldest son, Justin, was born, Tim began collecting police patches and badges for him. Of course, Tim collected many friends along the way as well.

Tim’s fascination with the cinema did not go unnoticed. After a 20-year career in theaters such as: Lincoln Mall Cinemas and Showcase Cinemas, he let the credits roll at Warwick Showcase. In his retirement, Timothy split his time between his sons in Florida and his closest friends in New England.

Timothy is survived by his brothers: Jeffrey T. Saucier and his wife Barbara of Johnston, Robert J. Saucier and his wife Jeannie of Scituate, and his sons: Justin Saucier of Fort Myers, and Adam Saucier of Punta Gorda. He also leaves his nieces, Cheryl, Jennifer and Tara, a nephew, Joseph and 5 great nieces and 3 great nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday February 2nd at 10am in St. Robert Bellarmine Church, 1804 Atwood Avenue, Johnston. Burial will be in Highland Park, Johnston. Visitation respectfully omitted. In lieu of flowers, donations in Tim’s memory may be made to Smithfield YMCA, 15 Deerfield Drive, Greenville, RI 02828 www.ymca1.org
