Irene M. (Scanlan) Forbes of Jamaica Plain, passed away on January 28, 2024. Beloved mother of Richard Forbes and his wife Lee of Weymouth, Michael Forbes and his partner Paula Hirsh of Mansfield, Peter Forbes and his wife Prabhitha of Worcester, Joan Forbes-Ozella and her husband Bruce Ozella of West Roxbury, and Barbara Forbes of Jamaica Plain. Devoted daughter of the late James and Katherine (Brown) Scanlan. Dear sister of the late Rita Moran. Loving grandmother of Matthew Forbes, Natalie Conway, Evelyn Forbes, and Adam Ozella. Great grandmother of Emily Conway. Also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visiting Hours in the William J. Gormley Funeral Home, 2055 Centre St., West Roxbury on Thursday, February 1st from 4-7pm. Funeral from the Funeral Home on Friday, February 2nd at 9am. Followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Theresa of Avila Church at 10am. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend.
