Lois L. Valenti

TEWKSBURY: Lois L. (Gorrell) Valenti, age 85, a resident of Tyngsborough for 22 years, formerly of Tewksbury, passed away at the Lowell General Hospital on Tuesday, December 26, 2023.
She was the beloved wife of Anthony B. Valenti, who passed away on October 26, 1995.
Born in Everett on November 8, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Richard Gorrell and the late Rita (McAuliffe) Gorrell.
Lois was raised in Tewksbury, attended Tewksbury schools and graduated from the former Keith Hall Parochial High School in Lowell. She later attended Newbury College, where she received an associate degree.
Prior to retiring, Lois worked for Journeys Unlimited as an agent in the travel industry and in earlier years she worked at the Oblate Fathers Novitiate in Tewksbury where she made many lifelong friends.
In her spare time, she enjoyed reading, knitting, crochetting, craft projects and traveling to Ireland.
In 2001, Lois moved to Tyngsborough, where she made many friends and was a member of the Red Hat Society of Tewksbury.
She is survived by two children, Lisa M. Walsh and her husband Richie, of Tyngsborough, and Mark S. Valenti and his wife Leonor, of Quaker Hills, New South Wales, Australia: four grandchildren, Jessica L. Fuller and her husband Matt, Casey J. Walsh and her wife Emily Oswalt, Aaron A. Valenti and Isabella A. Valenti: one brother, R. Wayne Gorrell and his wife Diane, of Newbury, NH. She leaves many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
Calling hours are Sunday, January 7th, from 2-5 p.m. at the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee Street, Tewksbury. Her funeral procession will begin on Monday, January 8th, at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home, followed by her Funeral Mass at 11:30 a.m. at St. William’s Church, 1351 Main Street, Route 38, Tewksbury. Interment will be held at a later date at Tewksbury Cemetery. Donations in her memory may be made to Salesian Missions, 2 Lefevre Lane, New Rochelle NY 10801-5701.
