Obituary

CHICOPEE – Gail M. (Courchesne) Nadeau, 85, of the Willimansett section of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Thursday, November 9, 2023. She passed into Eternal Life at Riverside Health and Rehabilitation Center in East Hartford, Connecticut surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family. She was born in Holyoke on October 26, 1938, a beloved daughter of the Henry and Margaret (Dougherty) Courchesne. She was raised and educated in Chicopee and was a lifelong resident of Chicopee. She was a loving homemaker to her husband and family. She was a communicant of the former Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church in Chicopee. Above all, she loved spending time with her family and her many friends. She leaves her beloved husband and best friend, Rene J. Nadeau, Sr. They were married on June 21, 1958 at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church and were blessed with over 65 years of happiness together. She also leaves her three loving children, Rene J. Nadeau, Jr. of Chicopee, Ann Marie Margoles and her husband, Tim, of Westfield and Jennifer M. Costigan and her husband, Thomas; her eight cherished grandchildren, Raymond J. Nadeau, Jr., Amanda and Samantha Nadeau, Abigail Nadeau and her fiancé, Christopher Nichols, Jesse Ethier, Christopher Ethier and his wife, Gina, Brittany Ethier and Sophie Costigan; her many cherished great grandchildren; her four dear sisters, Kathy Bulecza and her husband, TJ, of Eustis, FL, Eileen Bryden of Florida, Peggy Moriarty and her husband, Tom, of Hatfield and Barbara Dulude of New Hampshire; and her many dear nephews, nieces, cousins, extended family members and friends. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her loving son, Raymond J. Nadeau, Sr. who was Called Home on December 3, 2018; and her four dear siblings, Robert and John Courchesne, Patsy Desorcy and Maureen Majerowski. Her family will receive friends on Friday, November 17, 2023 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. followed by a Prayer Service at 6 p.m. at the St. Pierre-Phaneuf Aldenville Chapels, (413-532-9806), 13 Dale Street, Chicopee, MA 01020.
