Marilyn Jo (Perkins) Vandergrift

Marilyn Jo (Perkins) Vandergrift, 88, of Anderson passed away on November 8, 2023 at her home following a brief illness.
She was born on June 18, 1935 in Anderson to the late Paul Preston and Myrtle Louise (Mills) Perkins. She graduated from Anderson High School in the class of 1953.
She was a member of Central Christian Church. She loved spending time with her family and friends. She enjoyed taking short trips to Pigeon Forge, TN and Shipshewana, IN which were her two favorite places to see God’s country. She was a member of a euchre group for over 60 years.
She is survived by her two daughters, Trena Vandergrift of Anderson and Tricia Ewing of Lapel; two grandchildren, Michael P. Woodruff of Anderson and Krista J. Woodruff of Lapel; a great-grandson, AJ Woodruff; two sisters, Norma Weston and Sheila Green both of Anderson; a brother, Jim (Susie) Perkins of Peru; two sisters-in-law, Trudy Perkins of Anderson and Sherry Perkins of Brownsburg; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William Richard “Dick” Vandergrift on October 5, 2001; two brothers, William Perkins and Robert Perkins.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00pm on Tuesday, November 14, 2023 at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service with her nephew, Pastor Tim Perkins officiating. Burial will follow at East Maplewood Cemetery.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 12:00pm-2:00pm at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be given to Shriner's Hospital for Children or Central Christian Church.
