John E. Vajner
March 4, 1933- October 29, 2023
John E. Vajner, 90, of Anderson, passed away peacefully October 29, 2023.
He was born on March 4, 1933 in Anderson, the son of Jack and Helen (Kopowski) Vajner. John was a graduate of Anderson High School and Indiana University School of Business. He was a member of Theta Chi Fraternity and served in the US Air Force.
John served as president of the A.O. Barnes Company, retiring in 1990. He enjoyed cars and was a member of the Indiana Old Car Club, owning a 1931 Chevrolet and 1965 Corvair. John enjoyed spending time outdoors.
He is survived by his wife, Cynthia, whom he married September 4, 1955; his sons, John Edward (Esther) Vajner and Barnes Allen (Brenda) Vajner; nine grandchildren, John (Amanda) Vajner, III, Christopher Vajner, Cooper Vajner, Spencer Vajner, Brittany Woolard, Brandon Vajner, Brooke Folkner, Thomas Janovsky, Jillian Konarski; five great grandchildren, Bailey Vajner, Tenley Vajner, Landon Folkner, Addyson Folkner and Elliot Vajner.
John was preceded in death by his daughter, Jessica Janovsky and sister, Mary Ann McNeely.
A private family memorial will be held at a later date.
