Sonia L. Igreja, 67, of New Bedford passed away after a long battle with cancer on August 25, 2022 at Rhode Island Hospital.
Born in Governador Valadares, Brazil, she was the daughter of the late Jose A. and Rita (Rodrigues) Nascimento. Sonia is survived by her husband Alvaro Igreja and her four children, Paulisson, Macleans, Kathyleen, Jackyleen, and their families.
Sonia was an entrepreneur and a missionary. She loved helping others in need, she was selfless and had a big heart. She loved to travel especially to Brazil. She loved to sing and preach at church. Family and friends meant everything to her, she would always spread joy and positivity everywhere she went.
Sonia's visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, August 30th from 10-11 AM at the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford.
