Salem: Cecile M. Goral age 90 of Salem, died Wednesday evening at the Jewish Rehabilitation Center in Swampscott following a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Gustave Goral and was also the wife of the late Emile Deschene.
Born and raised in Salem, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Marie (Desjardins) Michaud. As a young woman she first worked in the leather tanning industry of Peabody. She later worked for the Surrett Battery Co. of Salem until her retirement.
Cecile was a member of the former St. Joseph Parish and was devoted to her family and her large extended family. She loved Bingo and her many friends.
She is survived by 2 sons: Eugene P. ‘Jimmy’ Deschene of Salem and Robert C. Goral and his wife Lois of Lynn, 2 grandchildren: Kimberly & Scott Goral and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
She was predeceased by 4 brothers: Leo, Arsene, Alfred & Joseph ‘Peter’ Michaud, and 2 sisters: Isabelle Ingemi & Florence St. Pierre.
Relatives and friends are invited to her funeral on Monday, April 24, 2006, at 10 am from the Levesque Funeral Home, 163 Lafayette St., Salem [Rt. 114 / 1-A] followed by her funeral mass in Immaculate Conception Church, Salem at 11 am. Visiting hours: Sunday 4 to 8 pm. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem.
