Obituary



Leon J. “Lee” Scarlett, 68, died November 22, 2021 at his home surrounded by his family, following a lengthy illness.

He was born in Manchester on October 16, 1953 the son of Edward M. and Lillian (Levesque) Scarlett.



Lee grew up in Manchester and attended Memorial High School.



He started his first job at the age of 17 when he started working at Barton’s Texaco. Under the tutelage of the owner he learned everything he could about being a mechanic. He then worked for 18 years at Miller Engineering as a technician. Prior to his retirement he was a mechanic and office manager for Granite State Sewer & Drain.



Lee loved cars and everything that went with them. He was a former member of the Gate City Corvette Club and the Lone Wolf Car Club. He owned several Corvettes through the years but eventually made the switch over to owning hot rods, purchasing several in the last few years. He and Paulette loved to hit the open road and in one day could travel much of the state, heading north toward the mountains then to the Lakes Region, finishing up their day of travel at Hampton Beach listening to some music at the Clamshell.



Family members include his wife of 50 years, Paulette D. (Lafleur) Scarlett of Epsom, two daughters; Lori A. Davis of Epsom, Lisa M. Marquis and her wife, Jessica of Pembroke, four grandchildren; Brandon Santos, Derek Davis Jr., Darren Lee Davis, Lauren D. Davis, one brother, Robert J. Scarlett and his wife Irene of Goffstown, one sister, Susan Brodeur and her husband Paul of Manchester, several nieces, nephews and cousins.



He was predeceased by one brother, Donald M. Scarlett.



Calling hours will be on Wednesday, December 1, 2021 from 9:00 to 10:30 am at J. N. Boufford & Sons Funeral Home, 110 Bridge St.



A mass of Christian burial will follow at 11 am in St. Catherine of Siena Church, Webster St.



Flowers can be sent to J.N. Boufford & Sons Funeral Home or a donation can be made in Lee’s name to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital at stjude.org
