Obituary

Kathleen M. Doyle, a longtime resident of Haverhill, passed away at the Baker-Katz Nursing Home in Haverhill on Thursday, October 21, 2021. She was 86 years old.

Born in Andover, Massachusetts, on August 17, 1935, she was the beloved daughter of the late Edward A. and Mary J. (Thornton) Doyle.  She studied at Lesley College where she earned her teaching degree in Elementary Education.   Ms. Doyle was an Andover Public School Teacher for more than 30 years. In her spare time, she enjoyed singing in the choir at St. Michael's Church in North Andover and Sacred Hearts Church in Bradford where she was considered the Choir Angel.  Always willing to help the choir members keep organized with their music and do additional tasks asked of her.  She also was a long-time volunteer at the Holy Family Hospital in Methuen and at local animal shelters. Kay loved to read, especially to children, and care for her many pets.  She also enjoyed watching the Red Sox.
  
Surviving are her loving family, a sister in law, Sheila Doyle, nephews; Ryan C. Doyle of Andover and Riley C. Doyle of Londonderry, New Hampshire and niece Kelley C. Doyle of Andover.  Deceased in addition to her parents is a brother, Edward A. Doyle. 

Kathleen touched many lives in so many positive ways, especially children.  She was loved by her many students.  She had a very special bond with Nicholas Scarci and Erik Haggstrom for whom she babysat.   

A special thank you goes to the staff at Baker-Katz Nursing Home, including Ruby, Pat, and Nomsa, for the excellent care and attention she received and to BrookHaven Hospice and Nurse Janice for end-of-life care.

Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Michael Church, 196 Main Street, North Andover on Tuesday, October 26, 2021, at 11:30 AM. Relatives and friends are most welcome to attend. Visitation will be held in the Burke-Magliozzi Funeral Home, 390 North Main Street, Andover on Tuesday, prior to the mass, from 9:30 to 11 AM. Interment will be held in the St. Augustine Cemetery in Andover. Donations in Kathleen’s memory may be made to St. Michael Church, 198 Main Street, North Andover, MA 01845.
