James K. Fortes, 69, of Fall River passed away Tuesday September 17, 2019 at Charlton Memorial Hospital after a brief illness.
Born in New Bedford, the son of the late Antonio P. and Mary A. (Livramento) Fortes, he lived in New Bedford for most of his life before moving to Fall River seven years ago.
Jimmy enjoyed playing cards and doing crafts with beads. He loved watching sports.
He is survived by his sister, Rose M. Fortes and her fiancé, Egidio Mello of New Bedford and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was the brother of the late Albert A. Fortes and Robert G. Fortes.
His Funeral will be held on Monday September 23, 2019 at 8 AM from the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford, followed by his Funeral Mass at Our Lady of the Assumption Church at 9 AM.
