Connie Dorminy Champion, 68, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Saturday, September 14, 2019, at Navicent Health in Macon.
Funeral services will be held 11 AM, Wednesday, September 18, 2019, at The Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Fitzgerald, with the Rev. Jeremy Cox officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 Tuesday evening at the funeral home in Fitzgerald.
Mrs. Champion was born November 24, 1950, in Osierfield, Georgia, to the late Rufus Troy & Gladys Young Dorminy. She was a 1968 graduate of Fitzgerald High School. She worked at B.C. Moore’s and Goody’s, retiring as assistant manager. She lived in the community all of her life. She was a member of DeBerry Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband of over 40 years, Ronnie Champion of Fitzgerald; daughters: Tina & Timothy McMillan of Fitzgerald and Amy Mitchell and her fiancé Chris Giles of Leesburg; grandchildren: Cody Bazemore, Erica Mandrell, Jake Mitchell, and Raylee McMillan; great-grandchildren: Brody Bazemore and Adelyn Bazemore; a brother, Randy Troy Dorminy; as well as several nieces and nephews.
