Obituary

James F. Murray, 94, of New Bedford passed away Saturday September 7, 2019 at Sacred Heart Home.

Born in New Bedford, the son of the late George W. and Mary M. (Corbett) Murray, he lived in New Bedford all of his life.

Mr. Murray was formerly employed as a parts manager for Cornell-Dubilier Electronics Corporation.

During World War II, he served in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, and participated in the Campaigns of Normandy, Northern France, and Germany. He was a member of the Friendly Sons of St. Patrick, the Andrews-Dahill Post 1531 Veterans of Foreign Wars, the American Legion Post 1, and the Disabled American Veterans Chapter 7.

He is survived by his brother, George Murray; and many nieces and nephews.

He was the brother of the late Frederick Murray, Norman Murray, John Murray, and Mildred McCorkindale.

His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday September 13, 2019 at 10 AM at St. Lawrence Church. Burial with military honors will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery. Visiting hours are omitted.
