Obituary

Pasquale E. “Pat” Ruocco passed away peacefully in Falmouth in the company of his family. He was 95. Born and raised in Boston’s West End, he was the son of the late Franceso and Angelina (Vadaro) Ruocco. Pat served in the Pacific with the Army during World War II. After his service he eventually established his restaurant, Pat’s Pushcart Restaurant on Endicott Street in Boston’s North End. He operated the landmark eatery for 50 years. A long-time resident of the North End, Pat was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He was also a good friend to many. He enjoyed summertime with his family in Falmouth on the Cape and winters in Florida. After his retirement, he spent most of his time in Falmouth were he loved to have his family and especially his grandchildren by his side for family meals.


The beloved husband of the late Marie C. (DeFazio) Ruocco who passed away in 1996, Pat was a devoted father to Angela O'Donnell and her husband Peter of East Falmouth, Frank Ruocco of Falmouth, Joseph Ruocco and his wife Cheryl of Saugus, Patrice Trodella and David Porter of Woburn. He was a loving grandfather to Michael and his wife Leigh, Joanne and her husband Anderson, Toni-Ann and her husband Harry, Mark, Joie-Ann and her husband Santo, and Mariana as well as a loving great grandfather of Robert and Francesca. Pat was the dear brother of the late Sam, Joe, Mary and Americo Rocco, Carmella Grassia, and Ursula Rocco Pino. He was a dear Brother-in-law of Frances “Honey” DeFazio and also leaves many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to visit with the family at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St. Medford, Wednesday, September 4th, 4-8 PM. Relatives and friends are also respectfully invited to meet at church for a funeral mass celebrated in St. Anthony Church, 167 E Falmouth HWY, East Falmouth, MA., 02536 Thursday September 5th at 11 AM, entombment will follow at the parish cemetery.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Pat’s name to West End House Camp, 105 Allston St., Allston, MA 02134.
