Armando Sabatino of Somerville passed away at the Kaplan Family Hospice surrounded by his loving family. He was 89 and a month shy of his 90th birthday. Born and raised in Montefalcione, Avellino, Italy, he was the son of the late Guglielmo and Carmela (Palmariello) Sabatino. He came to the United States with his young family and settled in Somerville, where he raised his family with his loving wife, Emanuela. Armando worked in the construction industry until his retirement. He was a decent hardworking man who was proud of his family, especially his grandchildren, and was devoted to his family and many friends.
The beloved husband of the late Emanuela (Martignetti) Sabatino, he was a devoted father to Carmela Febbo and her husband Tiziano of Saugus, Annette Serrao and her husband Egidio of Medford, Guglielmo Sabatino of Tewksbury, Vincenzo Sabatino and his wife Judy of Somerville, Silvana Sabatino and her fiancée John Moore of Lawrence, Felice Sabatino and his wife Kerry of Reading and the late Giuseppe Sabatino. He was a loving grandfather to Joseph Febbo, Adrianna Serrao, Dante Sabatino, Vincent Sabatino, Damian Sabatino, Kristina Sabatino, Bianca Sabatino, Emily Sabatino, Talia Moore, Gabriella Sabatino and Giuliana Sabatino. He is also the proud and loving great-grandfather of Gianna Febbo. He is a dear brother to Giueitta D'alelio and Giovanni Sabatino both of England, Guglielmo Sabatino of Woburn and the late Vincenzo Sabatino.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to visit with the family at the Dello Russo Home, 306 Main St., Medford, Friday July 19 from 4 thru 8 PM and again on Saturday morning at 9 followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 10 AM in St. Benedict Church, 21 Hathorn Street, Somerville. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden.
