Mrs. Ruth E. (Eppensteiner) White, a long-time resident of Andover and beloved wife of the late Cyril M. White, passed away peacefully at the Meadows in North Andover on Sunday morning, July 14, 2019. She was 95 years old.
Born in Rahway, New Jersey, she was the beloved daughter of the late William F. and Margaret K. (Connor) Eppensteiner. Mrs. White was a graduate of College of St. Elizabeth, Morristown, New Jersey, majoring in biology. She served in the U.S. Cadet Nurse Corps during WWII, and later taught elementary school in New Jersey. She was also a substitute teacher in the Andover school system. In her spare time, she enjoyed gardening, cooking, sewing, knitting, playing bridge, and entertaining. She also loved playing her piano and reading. She will be dearly missed by family and friends.
She is survived by her loving children, Denise M. White of Tewksbury, and Timothy M. and his wife Lynn A. White, and grandsons Duncan and Aidan White of Deerfield Beach, Florida.
Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Joseph Church, 20 Highvale Lane, Andover on Friday, July 19, 2019, at 10:30 AM. Relatives and friends are most welcome to attend. Visitation will be held in the church, prior to the mass, from 9:30 to 10:30 AM. Interment will be in Spring Grove Cemetery in Andover. Donations in Ruth's memory may be made to St. Augustine Church, 43 Essex Street, Andover, MA 01810.
