Obituary

Paul B. Wight 70, of Halifax, formerly a long time resident of Weymouth, died unexpectedly on Tuesday June 18.

Born and raised in Weymouth, he was the son of the late Willis and Shirley (Bicknell) Wight and a graduate of Weymouth Vocational Technical High School, Class of 1966.

Paul was a proud Veteran of the US Coast Guard having served from 1967-1971 at the height of the Vietnam War.

Prior to his retirement Paul had served for 34 years as an EMT and Firefighter for the Town of Weymouth. He had also worked 43 years as an engineer for Electro Switch of Weymouth.

He loved dancing with his late companion Rose Marie, and was an avid golfer.

He is survived by his daughter Jennifer Blair and her husband Kevin of East Bridgewater and Stacy Wight Churchill and her companion Aaron Danforth of Middleboro, his brother David Wight and his wife Barbara of Weymouth and his sister Arleen Boyd of Weymouth. He is also survived by his grandchildren Patrick and Devon Blair and Bryce Churchill.

Family and friends are invited to attend his memorial service on Friday June 21 at 7:00 PM in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street (Rte. 58 @ the rotary) Whitman. Visiting hours will be held prior to the service from 4:00-7:00.
