Michael W. Andrade, age 74, of New Bedford passed away Thursday, June 6, 2019 unexpectedly at Charlton Memorial Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Sheila R. (Gilbert) Andrade and had been married over 51 years. He was the son of the late Henrique and Beatrice (Almeida) Andrade.
Mike was born in Wareham and eventually resided in New Bedford. He was the owner and operator of Mike Andrade Excavation. He was proud to have served the community of Greater New Bedford. Mike was passionate and devoted to his craft.
Mike was well known for his generosity and willingness to help others. He was a passionate and endearing man to those who encountered him.
Some of his hobbies included singing, playing pool, and cornhole.
He is survived by his wife, Sheila R. Andrade; a son, Michael Andrade; a daughter, Sharon M. Sylvia; a brother, Frank Andrade; two sisters, Marge Martinez and Millie Barbosa; two grandchildren, Justin M. Sylvia and Josiah G. Sylvia; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late Kenneth Andrade and Henry Andrade, Jr.
