John A. Milton, age 87, of Brockton, died May 23, 2019 at Signature Healthcare-Brockton Hospital following a brief illness. John was the husband of the late Shirley M. (Erickson) Milton. Born in Boston, he was the son of the late John and Helen (Hart) Milton. He was raised and educated in Medfield, and was an Army veteran of the Korean War. John was a member of Teamsters Local 25 and had been employed by New Car Carriers and Allied Auto Transport, retiring in 1999. He was also a member of the Saint George Lodge AF&AM in Brockton. John enjoyed bowling, golfing, Keno, card games, especially Poker, and trips to Las Vegas. For many years he would drive cross country to attend veteran reunions with his friends.
John was a gentle, loving man devoted to his family. He had a great sense of humor and was an avid sports fan, especially of the New England Patriots and Boston Red Sox teams.
John was the loving father of Donald Milton and his wife Karen of Everett, Nancy Myers and her husband Bob of Brockton, John Milton and his wife Debbie of Brockton, Sandra Pacheco and her husband Roger of Everett and David Milton and his wife Jenni of Norton. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren. He was the brother of Barbara Clausen, Robert Milton and the late Arthur Milton and Richard “Buddy” Milton.
Visiting Hours will be held in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton, Wednesday, May 29 from 4-8pm. The Saint George Lodge will be holding a Masonic Service at 7pm. A Funeral Service will be held in the funeral home Thursday morning at 11am. Burial will be held at a later date in the Massachusetts National Cemetery.
