Carl F. Freda passed away at home in the company of his loving family. He was 82. Raised in Brookline he was the son of the late Generoso and Ermelinda (Muollo) Freda. Carl graduated from Northeastern University where he studied engineering and enjoyed a 30 year career with Raytheon. He later opened his own engineering firm, DMSI and created solutions for document management. Carl retired in 2002. A resident of Westford and Natick for many years, Carl and Diana settled in Kingston the past few years. Carl was an avid boater, loved fishing and loved his dogs even more. For him a happy day was spent on the beach with the family he loved or enjoying the sea breeze on the patio at his family’s Nantasket home.
The beloved husband of Diana L. (Hurley), Carl was a devoted father to Elise L. Freda and her husband David Manring of Kingston, Derek Freda and his wife Tahnee of Los Angeles, Stephanie Freda of Sarasota, FL., and Melinda Freda of Cohasset. He was a loving grandfather to Nicholas, Alexis, Jordan, Tamzin and Gemma Lou as well as a loving great-grandfather to Elijah and AJ. Carl was also the dear brother of the late Henry and Perry Freda, Gloria Marzano, Norma Conforti, Rita DiMento, Dick Freda and leaves many nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Joseph Church, 118 High Street, Medford, Thursday May 16th at 11:30 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
