Gerald Thomas Greland 86, of Roslindale, on May 5, 2019. Beloved husband of Josephine C. (Zammito) and cherished father of Gerald C. Greland of Bronxville, NY, and Angela J. Greland, and her husband, Scott D. Packard, of Belmont. Son of the late Genevieve (Smolenski) Morgan, and her husband, Joseph Morgan. Brother of Carol Connor, and her husband the late Michael Connor, of Brockton; and Joseph and Arthur Morgan. Brother-in-law of Charles and Sally Zammito of Duxbury; Robert and Valerie Zammito of Cape Cod; Ralph and Lorraine Zammito of Norwood; and the late Virginia and Stewart Martell. Devoted grandfather to Benjamin, Leonardo, and Henry Packard, with whom he loved to play floor hockey and baseball, and to read Calvin and Hobbes. Caring uncle to many nephews and nieces. A fan of many sports, constant gardener, and lover of facts and games, he was known for his clear blue eyes, effortless charm, generous spirit, and as a wonderful, dedicated caretaker of his family, friends, and home.
Funeral on Thursday May 9, 2019 at 10 AM from the Joseph Russo Funeral Home 814 American Legion Hwy (nr Cummins Hwy) Roslindale followed by a Funeral Mass in Sacred Heart Lower Church Roslindale, 169 Cummins Highway at 11 AM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Wednesday 4-8 PM. Interment in St. Joseph Cemetery West Roxbury.
