Obituary

Robert was born in Coffeyville, Kansas, to Otto A. and Estel (Harris) Ivy, on January 8, 1927. He entered into rest on April 30, 2019. He was 92.
Robert lived a full and honorable life. He served his country in WW II as a radio communicator in the United States Navy on the U.S.S. Watts 567.
Robert retired from Anderson Community Schools where he taught at Forest Hills School and coached basketball. His teaching career before retirement was 44 years. He then substituted at many schools until he just couldn't any longer. On his 90th birthday, he was granted his wish of teaching one last time. Anderson Community Schools orchestrated a return to school at Valley Grove Elementary.
Robert was a Gideon for many years and spread the love of Christ.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Otto Jr., and Samuel Ivy; first wife, Carolyn.
Those he leaves to cherish his memories are sons, Phillip Ivy of Elwood, William (Karen) Ivy of Nashville, TN, daughter, Sharon (Wayne) Brannen of Elwood; "adopted daughter" Kay Watts of Philippines; six grandchildren; two step-grandsons; 15 great grandchildren; sister, Wanda Curry of Missouri and several nieces and nephews.
He was a member of Madison Park Church of God.
Robert will be sadly missed by many but leaves so many wonderful memories.
Services will be held at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service with Pastor Tom Malbone on Monday, May 6, 2019 at 4 p.m.
Visitation will be from 2 pm until the service at the funeral home.
Cremation will follow with burial in Coffeyville, Kansas at a later date.
The Ivy family would like to extend a big thank you to Keystone Woods, Elwood Health and Living, Kindred Care Hospice, Community Hospital of Anderson, Dr. Jetty, Dr. Rhoades and Dr. Duncan for all their wonderful care.
