Rosaria “Rose” (Pastore) Mastrangelo passed away peacefully at the Belmont Manor Nursing Home on Saturday. She was 88. Born and raised in Anzano, Italy, she was the daughter of the late Carmine and Francesca Pastore. She and her husband came to the United States after they were married and settled in Somerville where they began their family. Rosaria was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who was devoted to the care of her family. She loved to cook and garden. She also developed her artistic touch in her later years and began coloring. She worked hard throughout her life and held jobs at Universal Laundry, the famed Pricilla’s Gowns and at a local ice cream company. She was a lovely woman who will be missed by those who knew her.
The beloved wife of the late Ralph Mastrangelo who passed away in 2015, Rosaria was the devoted mother of Maria Mastrangelo and her husband Edward Butland of Randolph, Fran Anniballi and her husband David of Chelmsford, Rocco Mastrangelo and his wife Jenilde of Arlington. She was the loving grandmother of Jonathan Butland, Richard Anniballi and his wife Stephanie, Nicholas Anniballi, Emily Mastrangelo and Elizabeth Mastrangelo. Rosaria was also a loving great-grandmother of Jazmine and Raffaele “RJ”. The sister of Michelina LoRusso of Somerville she is predeceased by her siblings Giuseppe Pastore, Vitamaria Magaletta and Carmela Giso.
Her funeral will be from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford on Thursday, April 4th at 9 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St Ann Church, 399 Medford St. Somerville at 10 AM. Burial will follow at St. Michael Cemetery, Roslindale. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend and to visit with the family on Wednesday, April 3 from 4- 8 PM at the Dello Russo Funeral Home.
