Charles E., 86, of Anderson passed away peacefully March 7, 2019 at Community Hospital.
Charles was born February 24, 1933, in Anderson, the son of James O. and Hazel (Wetzel) Shipley.
He worked at Nicholson File for 27 years, and then worked for Madison County Highway for 16 years.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Betty (Craig) Shipley whom he married July 20, 1957.
Charles is survived by his four children, David Shipley; Gail Alfrey-Simmons; Kenny (Linda) Shipley and Angela (Chuck) Butts all of Anderson; sisters, Viola Ellingwood, Carolyn Purdy, and Virginia Pierce all of Anderson; grandchildren, Jennifer (Derek) McHatten, Greg (Jill) Alfrey, Brian Shipley, Suzanne Shipley, Nathan (Adriene) Butts and Kyla (Shane) Briggs and eleven great-grandchildren.
Graveside service will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 13, 2019 at East Maplewood Cemetery with Chaplain Rob Mifflin officiating.
