Obituary

SPENCER: Hector J. Vandal, Jr., 88, of Spencer, died peacefully, Monday, March 4 at his home.
He leaves his wife of 63 years, Lorraine A. (Belanger) Vandal, his son Daniel J. Vandal and his wife Christine of Spencer, his daughters Debra A. O'bartuck and her husband Michael of Hardwick and Diana A. Gould and her husband Steven of W.Brookfield, a sister Lucille Richardson of Myrtle Beach, SC and a brother Norman Vandal of Shrewsbury, three grandchildren Ryan, Alysia and Justin, nieces and nephews.
Born in Sutton, he was the son of Hector J. Vandal, Sr., and Ledora (Decoteau), graduated from Worcester Boys Trade School and later served his country with the U.S. Navy during the Korean War.
Hector was a machinist for 27 years at Wyman Gordon Co. in Worcester and Grafton, retiring in 1992. He was an accomplished woodworker and built his own home. He loved playing golf. He was a member of Mary, Queen of the Rosary Parish.

Private funeral services were held in J.HENRI MORIN & SON FUNERAL HOME, 23 Maple Terr., Spencer. Burial with Military Honors was held in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Please omit flowers, contributions may be made to the Spencer Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 147, Spencer, MA 01562
