Obituary


Josephine A. Polcari passed away peacefully at home on Friday. She was 89. A long-time Dover resident, Josephine was born and raised in the North End, the daughter of the late John B. and Assunta (D'Aleio) Polcari. Josephine worked for many years as a waitress in some of Boston’s most notable restaurants and later worked with the Registry of Motor Vehicles. She was a wonderful mother, sister, aunt and friend to many who had boundless energy. She enjoyed good times with her family and friends and will be missed by all who knew her.

The loving mother of the late Joseph Paglia, she was the beloved sister of John B. Polcari and his wife Lucie of Medfield, the late Ella DiMatteo, Louise Bevilacqua, Anthony Polcari and Charles Polcari. She is also survived by many dear nieces, nephews and friends.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to visit with the family on Monday, March 4th from 10 -11 AM at St. Clement Church, 71 Warner Street, Medford followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 11 AM. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Josephine’s name to NewBridge on the Charles, 7000 Great Meadow Road, Dedham, MA 02026.
