Bernice Dean Perry, 89, of Tifton passed away Tuesday, February 26, 2019, at Tift Regional Medical Center. A graveside funeral service will be held for Mrs. Perry at 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 1, 2019, at Tift Memorial Gardens, where she will be laid to rest. The Rev. Dr. Wayne Roe will officiate.
Born June 22, 1929 in Dublin, Mrs. Perry was the daughter of the late James Omer Dean and Willie Mae O’Neal Dean. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Paul Perry. She was a homemaker and a member of Tifton’s First Baptist Church. She enjoyed gospel music and loved to read books, especially the Bible. She loved gardening and flowers and enjoyed visiting family, friends and, especially, her grandchildren.
Mrs. Perry is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Greg and Pansy Perry of Tifton; two daughters and sons-in-law, Evelyn and David Saul of Benton, Louisiana and Carol and Billy NeSmith of Tifton; one sister, Willa Mae Dean Griffin of Alabama; four grandchildren, Priscilla Dillard, Allison NeSmith, Dorothy Perry and Dianna Cross; and seven great-grandchildren.
Flowers will be accepted or memorial gifts may be made in her honor to the First Baptist Church Memorial Fund, 404 Love Avenue, Tifton, GA 31794.
