Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of U.S Navy Sailor Calvin J. Mrombo, 29 years old, who left us on Monday February 4th in Worcester, MA.

He was born on August 14, 1989 in Nairobi, Kenya to Preston P. Omwandu and Magdalena S. Mrombo. He joined the US Navy on 19-March-2015 and quickly rose to the rank of HN/E3, honorably serving our country until his passing. A natural leader, Calvin also fondly known as “motivator” within the ranks because of his uplifting attitude. “Doc” as he was called by the marine unit he served, was stationed at Camp Lejeune with the 2nd Dental Battalion unit serving 2nd Marine Division Logistics unit.


He is survived by his parents, his sister Adelaida S. Mrombo and his wife Djima A. Togbe. Family members: John Mwashighadi, Catherine Mzae, Zighe Mwachofi, Matilda Maghanga, Violet Anabaka, Elphas Esikumo, Leah Fore, Roseline Itemere, Billy Anabaka, Joan Ochieng, Alphonce, Irene, Alex and Moses Tumuna and many others.

Calling hours are Thursday February 14th from 4-7pm at O'CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue, Worcester. His funeral service will be held Friday 15th at 9:30 am at O'CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME. . He will then be escorted to his final resting place, Hope Cemetery in Worcester, MA.
